PieForge and this website are operated by GlassHill Ventures LLC, a Washington limited liability company doing business as MiddenSoft (“we”, “us” or “our”). This policy covers the PieForge app and the PieForge website.

What PieForge Stores on Your Device

PieForge does not require an account. Your recipes, cook plans, timers, bake logs, preferences and any backups you export are stored on your device (or wherever you choose to save an export). We do not upload them to our servers.

• Calendar: If you grant calendar access, PieForge can add your cook schedule to the calendar on your device. That data stays on your device.

Data We Collect

PieForge uses Google Firebase for analytics, crash reporting and remote configuration. Through these services the following data leaves your device:

• App interactions (Google Analytics for Firebase): which screens and features you use, such as starting a cook or opening a recipe. This is not linked to your name or email — PieForge has no accounts — and it is optional: turn it off in Settings → Preferences → Analytics.
• Crash logs and diagnostics (Firebase Crashlytics): stack traces, app state and device metadata (model, OS version, app version) captured when the app crashes. Also optional via the same setting.
• Device or other identifiers: a Firebase app-instance ID and installation ID that identify this installation of PieForge, not you. Firebase Remote Config sends the installation ID together with your country, language, time zone and OS version so we can tune app behaviour without an update; this is required for the app to function and cannot be turned off.
• Approximate location: Google Analytics derives a coarse, city-level location from your IP address on Google's servers. PieForge does not read your device location.
• Purchases: buying PieForge Pro is optional. Google Play processes payment and purchase or restore verification. PieForge receives the purchase status needed to unlock Pro. If usage reporting is enabled, Firebase also receives purchase and restore events. We never see your payment card or bank details.

PieForge does not use the Android Advertising ID, does not collect your name, email address, contacts, photos, health information or payment card and bank details, and does not track you across other apps or websites.

Microphone and Spoken Alarms

Spoken alarms use text-to-speech and do not require microphone access. Voice input is disabled in our launch builds. Older testing builds that offer voice commands only listen after you grant microphone permission. The device's speech recognition service processes speech and may send audio to its provider's servers, depending on the device and service settings. PieForge does not record or store your audio.

We plan to restore voice input in a future version. It will require microphone permission; you will still be able to cook using the on-screen controls without granting that permission.

Our Website

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. When analytics is on, Google sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_*) and receives the pages you view, the site that referred you, your browser and device type, screen size, language, and a coarse, city-level location derived from your IP address. We do not use Google signals or ad personalization, we do not use this data to advertise to you, and we do not sell it.

• Opt out on this site: use the button below. It stops Google Analytics from loading in this browser.
• Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends a GPC signal, Google Analytics does not load.
• Everywhere: install Google's Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies in your browser settings.

How We Use It

• App functionality: remote configuration and Pro entitlement.
• Analytics: understanding which features are used so we can improve the app.
• Crash management: finding and fixing bugs.
• Customer support: responding to requests you send us.
• Legal compliance: meeting legal obligations.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. The data described above is processed on our behalf by Google (Firebase and Google Analytics) under Google's Firebase privacy terms and Google's data processing terms; purchases are processed by Google Play under Google's privacy policy. All data is encrypted in transit.

Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access: You can request access to the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction: You can request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
• Deletion: Uninstalling PieForge removes everything stored on your device. To have analytics and crash data tied to your installation deleted from Firebase, see our Data Deletion page.
• Opt-Out: Turn off app analytics and crash reporting at any time in Settings → Preferences → Analytics. Turn off website analytics as described in Our Website.
• Data Portability: You can request a copy of your data in a portable format (where technically feasible).

Data Retention

Analytics and crash data is retained by Firebase for the retention period configured on our project and then deleted automatically. When you request deletion, we delete the data tied to your installation ID within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory reasons.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

PieForge is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your data in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending you an in-app notification or email.
